The Department of Security, Safety and Equal Treatment – Safe JU in cooperation with the MINDtheGEPs project is honoured to announce a competition for the best master's and doctoral thesis including the gender perspective.

This competition is part of the implementation of the Gender Equality Plan for the Jagiellonian University and an important step in promoting scientific research that considers aspects related to gender equality.

The Stefania Karolina Tatarówna Prize – named after the first woman who received a doctorate from the Jagiellonian University – is granted to the authors of the best master's theses and doctoral dissertations, prepared in Polish or English, in all fields and disciplines of study, which include a gender perspective, and which are submitted and defended at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków in the academic years 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.

The Stefania Karolina Tatarówna Prize will be granted for the best master's thesis and for the best doctoral dissertation, separately for the fields of social sciences and humanities, as well as for the fields of exact and natural sciences, medical and health sciences.

Deadline for submissions: April 30th, 23:59.

Competition applications should be submitted electronically via the application form.

The assessment criteria for master's and doctoral theses will include:

• the inclusion of a gender perspective in the research problem of the thesis/dissertation,
• the presence of a gender perspective in the research methods used in the thesis/dissertation, the theoretical perspective used and the research carried out.
